This is not aimed at commercial A.I. use, which will definitely replace commercial photography in the very near future.
We all have a choice, my models have character and personality, which I use to produce an image with soul, this is where my excitement and sense of achievement come from, my passion is working with a live person to to that end, you don’t get this with A.I! Unfortunately A.I. also seems to remove that soul!
- If you use an A.I. based programme to do your editing, is it really your image that remains? Where’s the thrill and achievement in that?
- A.I. editing does not have the finesse that re-touching by hand does, it’s more globally applied.
- It can also encourage poor photography practice with the promise of image correction.
- I go to great lengths to plan scenes with our model, I get the best models, I arrange the lighting with precision – all to be changed by A.I. – so was it not good enough to begin with?
- Why not stay at home and just use A.I. – save the expense of a camera and lenses?
- If the model were your daughter, how would you feel about people changing the shape of her face and body?
- Do you really know more about clothes, styling and makeup than the model?
- You present an image and say ‘look what I’ve done!’ – but what have you actually done?
- How can you learn by your mistakes when A.I. corrects them?
- Why come to a workshop if you are going to leave the end result to A.I.
- There’s a difference between fixing mistakes and completeing an idea.
It’s almost cheating isn’t it? Like buying a painting and telling people you did it yourself!
My workshops, therefore, are for creatives who enjoy the thrill of producing an image with a model, not A.I. engineers.
